On the tutorial video I am watching they use the insert key to move the pivot point of an object. I dont have an insert key on my laptop and so am looking for an alternative hotkey. Thanks

Hold down the "d" key and move the pivot.
I believe the “D” key is the “virtual pivot” — which is only effective while using the current manipulator. Next time you reselect the object or change tools, the actual pivot will be used again

This is something you will use often. I highly recommend mapping this to "\" right above return as that is a key not really used for anything else.

The "Home" key does the same thing on Maya for the mac.
