What's your question?

How can I set Mac finder preferences to size each column to display full file name?

I hate working on Macs. But since I have to, I'd like to make life as pleasant as possible. Is what I'm asking possible?

Thanks in advance

Finder -> Finder Preferences -> Show all filename extensions

/p

I don’t think that this is quite what he was after…

In “column” view in finder, the columns are always a certain width (approx 190px). With longer file or folder names, you have to expand it out to see, which can get irritating. I know it annoys me. He wants to be able to get it to dynamically resize itself based on the length of the filenames in the folder.

Clever. I should have thought of that one. But it’s still not quite what he’s after.
