Is it possible to export avid re-time curves?

I don't have an Avid, but I just heard a suggestion to save the re-time curves as an image, so I can then trace them to get the retime data into Nuke. Surely there must be an export function. Any ideas?

I dunno much about avid but I remember that the retime curve is different, like it's a percent of speed or a framerate or something. Surely you can get the EDL right?

I've done some dumb stuff in the past to get retime info:

  • Burn in some timecode and use OCR to pull the numbers, I think we started with pytesser and then hacked up a shake tool.
  • Make a clip of a single pixel scanning along an image, run that through the same retime and use the curve tool to bbox it, your bbox extents = the frame number to pull

not sure I’ll get to use it, but those are fantastically creative ways to crack that nut!
