Currently we run a linux pipeline for all of our movie encoding except for stereo > 1k and running > 30fps. For these, and some other one-offs, we rely on the apple intermediate codec (AIC).

Is there any linux alternative to AIC which has similar playback performance for these types of movies.

Unfortunatley DNxHD currently does not support 48fps so this codec is ruled out.
