Mental Ray Bumps

Hi Everyone

Just trying to work with Bump maps on a mia_material_x_passes, plugging a standard 8 bit tif into Overall Bump, in render Im getting nil feedback even when changing the bump map up to 10

My question is where am I going wrong in the shader?

perhaps MR doesnt like your tiff (compressed) file ?

thanks, no tried different file formats and compression settings in Maya, still no joy, thanks for the answer though :–)


I meant file format of bump texture, not output image. mray is known to not support certain tiff versions (smth about compression). Try TGA for your textures. Otherwise, it’s smth with your shader network :)
