Which motion picture camera systems do store continous lens data?

On set one would typically note down lens data manually (espc. focal length and lens id) - which systems do record this data electronically so it can be later used in the tracking process?

cooke optics have a system called /i tech. There are some compatible cameras/lenses listed on their site. It seems there are 2 modes.

Some cameras come equipped with /i tech and and the data can be recorded out of the box, so to speak.

  • Aaton Penelope 35mm
  • Arri 435 Xtreme
  • Arricam cameras equipped with LDS
  • RED cameras

If the camera is not ready equipped with /i tech, you can use /i equipped lenses which record the data and send to an SD card.

Looks like PF track already understands the /i technology format.

I never used any of that stuff - maybe there's someone around with real experience - or maybe there are other competing systems..

How is the data linked to the images? I would imagine (assume!) with digital (RED) cameras that it ends up in DPX metadata, but how about for 35mm cameras?
